From Sweat to Something Bigger
After spending 17+ years working with the United Nations in India and abroad, Ashok returned to India in 2022. Getting back into his weekend cricket and tennis routine, he noticed a surprising problem, finding high-quality sweat essentials like socks, towels, wristbands, and caps was harder than expected. The products available weren’t good enough, or they had to be bought from different places.
He brought this up with his childhood friend Rajesh, a filmmaker and advertising professional. That simple conversation turned into a shared mission: to create a brand that offers all your sweat essentials in one place, made with premium, breathable, odour-free, and skin-friendly fabrics.
That’s how Fittest Club was born with a focus on SweatWear collections.
But the story didn’t end there.
Years earlier, while working in South Africa, Ashok had seen a remarkable program called MomConnect, a behaviour-change initiative that used small nudges and regular communication to improve maternal health at scale. It left a lasting thought: If this could work in healthcare, could something similar help people in India build fitness and wellness habits too?
The answer revealed itself once again after Fittest Club launched. Talking to customers, Ashok realised: good products solved part of the problem, but the bigger challenge was consistency. Most people wanted to live healthier, but they struggled to stay on track. And this was no small issue, it connected directly to India’s growing burden of lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart problems.
That’s when the vision of Fittest Club grew bigger. Beyond just products, it would become a community-led wellness movement: combining habit-building challenges, supportive communities, and SweatWear essentials collections to help people take small, daily steps towards a fitter, healthier, and happier life.
